How does it work?
It’s easy to give your furniture to the Furniture Scheme!
If you have items you wish to donate to the Furniture Scheme you can either bring them to us or we can collect them. Either way, you can now book your donation easily online.
Alternatively, you can call us on 01584 877788
Here are some of the items we accept:
|Electrical||Kitchen & Household||Living||Bedroom|
Washing up bowls
Chest of drawers
Don’t Dump it, Donate it!
If you are donating any soft furnishings (which includes mattresses and divan beds) they must have one of the following labels:
N.B. All electrical items must be in good working order as we are not able to repair them.
We also welcome donations of books, clothing, shoes, belts, bags etc at all our sites including Rockspring Community Centre. Good items of clothing will be re-used by us and the charities we work with to help relieve poverty. Clothes not in a condition to be worn will be recycled to help the environment.
When you book your collection we will ask you the following questions:
- Are the items clean, working and saleable with no stains or tears?
- Do soft furnishings have fire labels?
- Is there adequate access and parking at the property for our vehicle?
- Are the items on the ground floor with appropriate room to remove them from the property?
If the answer to all of these questions is “yes”, we will negotiate and book you in a collection time and date. Time slots for collections are between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday.
Why donate to the furniture scheme?
You will help us by giving the furniture you no longer need. This helps you, the environment and us because your donated items will either be given to families or individuals as part of our referral service or sold at one of our shops to raise vital funds to continue our charitable work.
Collection of donated furniture is FREE, or you can drop items off at our Warehouse in Weeping Cross Lane which is open Monday to Thursday 9am – 1pm, Friday 9am – 4pm & Saturday 10am – 2pm.
Why not call us now on 01584 877788 to arrange collection.
There are some items we can’t accept for reasons of health and safety.
These include children’s equipment such as prams and cots and also sport/safety equipment such as bikes and cycling helmets.
If you don’t think your items are suitable for re-use contact Shropshire Councils Bulky Waste Service on 0345 678 9007 (there is a charge for this) if you are not quite sure please contact us.
