Craven Arms Charity Bookshop is now open
The Charity Bookshop on the Square in Craven Arms is now open.
The shop will be run by a team of volunteers with support from the Furniture Scheme, a local charity that helps local people in crisis or in need.
Opening hours will be Monday to Friday 9.30am – 4.30pm and Saturday 9.30am – 1pm.
There will be a great range of books on sale and everyone is welcome to go along and have a browse.
Jean Jarvis MBE, Chief Executive of the Furniture Scheme said, “We are really pleased to be reopening this well supported charity bookshop in Craven Arms. It fits really well with our ethos of reuse and recycling and will complement our bookshop in Ludlow.
We are so impressed by the dedication and commitment of the local volunteers and we think the bookshop will be a real asset to our charity. We are always looking for volunteers so please contact us if you are interested in helping at the bookshop, or at any of our sites.”
If you have any good quality books you would like to donate to the shop then please drop them off during opening hours. Books can be dropped off at the Charity Shop or CasCA, the Community Centre in Craven Arms which is also managed by The Furniture Scheme.
The bookshop had closed in December but the volunteers and many customers wanted to see it re-open. The new operation will continue to support Severn Hospice with 10% of the profits being gifted by the Furniture Scheme each year.
