Building Better Opportunties

 

 

What is it?

The Building Better Opportunities project brings together funding from the Big Lottery Fund and the European Social Fund (ESF). Run in conjunction with The Marches Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP), the project aims to provide pre-employment support within Shropshire and Telford and Wrekin for people aged 19 plus who are not in work.

What do we do and what is the benefit to you?

The Furniture Scheme is providing supported work experience placements and community activities designed for all abilities to help you build confidence and skills. As you grow in confidence you may want to take up volunteering, education, training or other activities designed to build your skills further. We can offer a wide range of volunteering opportunities in catering, transport and warehousing, retail and customer service, administration and carpentry. We can help you identify your strengths and set new goals for yourself. We can support you to produce a CV or job search with free wifi access at all of our sites.

We have various community activities you can get involved in too such as gardening, craft and cookery or why not just come along to one of our community lunch days at Rockspring Centre in Ludlow (Thursday) or CasCA in Craven Arms (Wednesday) and chat to Justin our Community Worker? Whatever your experience or wherever you are in life we have something for you at a pace that will suit!

How do I get involved?

Contact Di Hyde if you would like to volunteer, or Justin Griffiths to get involved in our community activities or even pop along to one of our community lunch days, details on our website or call in at any of our sites where staff will happily point you in the right direction. The project will run until 2019.
